Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support

RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is a not-for-profit, secular community based organisation committed to enhancing the lives of communities, families and individuals, by being a leading provider of quality relationship support services. As the first point of contact within the Centre the Client Services Officer will need to provide support to individuals and families seeking assistance whilst providing a range of administrative assistance to the Ballarat Centre team.
As the Client Services Officer your role will entail, but not limited to:
Providing organizational and administrative support to the team
Possess excellent phone manner with clients presenting with complex matters
Provide accurate and relevant information to all external enquiries regarding the organisation’s services, processes, staff qualifications, waiting lists and fees
Timely professional decision making to determine the urgency of individual client needs for appointment scheduling, the appropriate service and service provider to meet their needs, and the handling of emergency situations
To be successful you must possess a mature approach with strong computer skills as you will be creating reports detailing the Centre’s activities. You must be a team player who enjoys a variety of tasks and can roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

About the role:
Reporting to the Centre Manager Melbourne, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be an experienced professional with considerable knowledge of office oversight, coordination, supervision and support to administrative staff and administrative coordination for clinical staff. The Client Services Coordinator provides high level practice management and administrative support to facilitate the delivery of care to clients who access the Family Relationships Centre.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise administrative workloads, tasks to
    efficiently and effectively produce results
  • Certificate, Diploma or tertiary qualifications in administrative/secretarial studies or equivalent and several years’ experience in a busy administrative office environment
  • Highly developed general computer skills and computer literacy, MS Office Suite, CRM (preferable) and the demonstrated capacity to learn IT new systems
  • Experience working in a strong customer/client focused environment and representing a professional image and standard
  • Demonstrated capacity to assist member of the public and potential clients, understanding their needs and the range of services provided by RAV.
  • Previous experience supervising an office and/or office staff, coordinating, supervising and developing a small team.

This role is based in our centre on Collins Street, Melbourne CBD.  RAV centres are open, depending on client demand and operational requirements. For this role, you will be required to work an evening each week which are outside of standard business hours, on a regular basis.
