connectEDspace is a website by Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV), dedicated to young people to help provide all the information they need to deal with the stuff they go through each day.

Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support

RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.


Coordinator Family Violence - North Western region

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Western Region, this multifaceted role oversees the full breadth of RAV’s family violence services with the capacity to deliver services across Northern and Western Melbourne and Victoria (Greensborough, Sunshine, Shepparton, Wangaratta and Ballarat). 

A key focus of this role is the safety of women and children. The Coordinator – Family Violence coordinates RAV’s suite of Family Violence programs including the Men’s Behaviour Change Program.

 Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Successful completion of appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related social science discipline. Eligibility for membership of appropriate Professional body. 
  • Significant experience working in the family violence sector with a demonstrated ability to work with a range of family violence and family intervention models in systemic ways and oversee complex casework with clients where family violence is an identified risk.
  • Capacity to work flexibly, independently and cooperatively in a dynamic workplace environment with high level emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire and motivate others in times of rapid change.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to varying issues in a consistent manner exercising maturity of judgement and sound problem solving capability with a demonstrated ability to meet timelines, targets and other key deliverables. 
  • Current driver’s license.

RAV offices are open 1-2 nights per week and may be open on a Saturday morning.  Depending upon the role and location, you may be required to work an evening each week or other working hours will be negotiated which may be outside of standard business hours, on a regular basis.

This position may be based in Sunshine. The incumbent will be required to travel to various regional locations in scope. In addition, RAV requires all employees to undertake a satisfactory National and/or International Police Check (if applicable) and Working with Children Check prior to employment.
