connectEDspace - support for young people

Young people can face all sorts of pressures – including problems at school, with friends or at home.
connectEDspace is a website by Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV), dedicated to young people to help provide all the information they need to deal with the stuff they go through each day.

Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support

RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

Property dispute settlement and conciliation program

Helping separated couples resolve property disputes with the assistance of external mediators.

Another option to settle your property and financial disputes is to use Relationship Australia Victoria’s Property Dispute Settlement and Conciliation Program.

The service utilises external mediators who are Nationally Accredited mediators and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners and all have extensive experience in property and financial disputes. The mediators we use include Barristers, Solicitors and retired Judges and Magistrates.

You can participate in the service with or without your lawyer. If you have a lawyer, this service enables you (if you wish) to negotiate a settlement with your lawyer present to provide legal support.

Private property dispute settlement and conciliation is often a quicker, more affordable alternative to litigation. It is:

  • Cost-effective: fees are set so you know how much it will cost.
  • Timely: for most clients, the process can be completed quickly.
  • Professional: our mediators are qualified, experienced and impartial.
  • Supportive: if you wish to retain a lawyer for the process, they can assist by clarifying details, drafting legal documents, helping to prepare and exchange information and documents, and providing advice.

Before the process begins, you and your former partner each attend an individual assessment to make sure that our service is appropriate.

How much does property dispute settlement and conciliation cost?

  • Individual assessment: $300 per person.
  • Preparation and one 3 hour mediation: flat fee of $1000 per person.

Each client is responsible for payment of his or her own lawyer’s fees (if applicable).
