RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

Coordinator - Legally Assisted and Culturally Appropriate Family Dispute Resolution - Sunshine

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Western, the Coordinator will be responsible will be responsible for community development and project implementation for RAV’s legally assisted culturally appropriate family dispute resolution (LACAFDR) program which aims to improve access to culturally sensitive, enhanced family dispute resolution and family violence services for the Vietnamese community.

The role has primary responsibility for coordinating the Safe Resolutions community development and service delivery components. The model requires outreach to a range of community services and relies on the development of strong inter-service partnerships.

 

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Sciences or related field
  • Program delivery experience within a community-based agency setting
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise working with families affected by family violence
  • Demonstrated experience working with CALD communities
  • Vietnamese speaking (highly advantageous)

This role is based in our Sunshine Family Relationship Centre. The position is part-time, 0.6 EFT (3 days, 22hours per week). The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for 14 months with the opportunity for extension subject to funding.
