connectEDspace - support for young people

Young people can face all sorts of pressures – including problems at school, with friends or at home.
connectEDspace is a website by Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV), dedicated to young people to help provide all the information they need to deal with the stuff they go through each day.

Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support

RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

70 years strong

Relationships Australia Victoria

In 2018, Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) celebrated our 70th anniversary – an important milestone in our organisation’s history.

We first began in 1948 as a modest but aspirational organisation called the Marriage Guidance Council of Victoria, that engaged volunteers to primarily offer marriage guidance, particularly in response to the impact of the Second World War on marriages and social stability.

Over the subsequent 70 years, we have grown and evolved significantly. Today, are proud to provide a diverse range of professional family and relationship services including counselling, family dispute resolution, relationship education, family violence prevention, support and recovery services, mental health services, and training and workplace services.

As part of our celebrations to mark our 70th anniversary, we have produced a short video of the history of our organisation, featuring current and former CEOs and executive directors, staff and board members.

Watch it here.

“The core of our success has always been the people and their incredible commitment to their work, to their professionalism and to the people they serve. And it's a privilege to work with people who are in trouble and need, and to, at the end of the time together, to see them walk out strongly and able to deal with the issues they have in their life.”
– Susan Gribben, Former Executive Director

“It's been a great privilege to be part of the organisation and part of its service to the community. I think it's a very valuable organisation that is of great benefit to the community, and will continue to be of great benefit to the community in the future.”
– Dr Andrew Bickerdike, Chief Executive Officer
