Young people can face all sorts of pressures – including problems at school, with friends or at home.
connectEDspace is a website by Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV), dedicated to young people to help provide all the information they need to deal with the stuff they go through each day.

Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support


RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

Our Telephone Counselling service provides the opportunity to access professional, confidential counselling from the comfort and privacy of your own home or other location.

The service can be used:

  • By individuals who are unable to attend one of our centres, for example because of distance, child carer responsibilities or disability.
  • By people who prefer to access counselling over the telephone rather than in person.
  • During COVID-19, when face-to-face services are limited.

The service is mainly available to support individuals. If you are looking for relationship telephone counselling, please talk to us about your individual circumstances or you can use our video counselling service.

How it works

The Telephone Counselling service is provided by experienced, qualified Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) counsellors.

At an agreed time, your counsellor will be available to speak with you for a 50-minute appointment. Our counsellors have helped many people through difficult times and they will be able to offer you support, guidance and advice for a range of issues.

At the end of the session, you can book another appointment with the same counsellor if you’d like to do so.

You can also choose to meet with your counsellor in person if you are able to attend the centre.

Please note: due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, face-to-face counselling may not be currently be available.

Cost

We are a not-for-profit community organisation and our counselling services are only partially government funded, so fees are normally charged. However, we do try to make our services as affordable as possible.

Our fees are determined on a sliding scale, based on a client's ability to pay. When you call to book an appointment, we will discuss the fees payable.
