Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support


RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

This introductory, two-day course is ideal for accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners (FDRPs) with experience working with families around parenting arrangements.

This course will help to strengthen and develop your existing knowledge and skills with property and financial matters within FDR. It will also provide the opportunity to enhance your confidence through the practical application of skills in activities and role plays.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) holds specialised expertise in the field of FDR in property
and financial matters, with over 30 years’ experience supporting families and 20 years’ experience
providing professional training in this area.

About the presenters

Natasha Belmont is the Program Leader FDR and Mediation Training at RAV. She holds tertiary qualifications in law and psychology and is an experienced FDRP and child consultant. Natasha coordinates RAV’s Graduate Diploma of FDR, Mediation Training Short Course, and delivers training for external organisations. She is also an expert member of the Independent Office of School Dispute Resolution with the Victorian Department of Education and Training.

Wendy Gaddie is a Trainer and Assessor at RAV. She holds tertiary qualifications in law and psychology, and is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and FDRP. Wendy has practised as a Family Lawyer and has also worked as an academic researcher in the area of dispute resolution. Wendy is a facilitator and coach for RAV’s Graduate Diploma of FDR and Mediation Training Short Course.
