Young people can face all sorts of pressures – including problems at school, with friends or at home.
connectEDspace is a website by Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV), dedicated to young people to help provide all the information they need to deal with the stuff they go through each day.

Aboriginal Family and Relationship Support


RAV provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and individuals to help strengthen family relationships.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk with a professionally trained person to discuss couple issues, conflicts with friends, relationship breakdown, parenting, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, grief, sexual problems, childhood sexual abuse, stress and work related tensions and disputes.

Tuning in to Kids (Kew)

Emotionally Intelligent Parenting: Learn how to better understand and interact with your child.

Backed by evidence-based research, this program focuses on developing key skills in recognising and responding to your child’s emotions, conflict management, and helping your child develop emotional intelligence.

This six-week program focuses on developing key skills to recognise and respond to your child’s emotions, and to learn about conflict management and preventing problem behaviour in children.

Tuning in to Kids teaches parents how to help their child develop emotional intelligence - a key skill to help them better cope with their emotions, become more assertive and have more stable and satisfying relationships as adults.

This course teaches parents:

  • emotional intelligence and why it’s important
  • the five steps of emotion coaching
  • different parenting styles
  • anger and conflict management
  • problem solving
  • emotional self-care.

Ideal for

Parents of children aged six to 11.

Please note: This group may not be appropriate for all parents. Please contact us if your family is experiencing family violence, significant mental health issues or child protection issues. We will talk to you about your circumstances and whether this group is suitable for you.

  • 6:30 - 8:30pm on Tuesdays in 2020.
    Please note: all six sessions must be attended.

    An additional booster session may be held in the two months following the conclusion of each group.
  • $250 each, or $450 for two caregivers attending together.
  • Please note: Babies and children cannot be accommodated in groups.
