We're proud to be supporting young people's wellbeing through our headspace Bairnsdale centre.
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12 to 25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug service. headspace has 95 centres currently operating across Australia and operates an online and telephone service, eheadspace. More than 270,000 young Australians have come to headspace for support, guidance or help over the past 10 years.
The Bairnsdale headspace centre provides free or low cost confidential mental, general and sexual health services as well as education and employment, and alcohol and other drug support services. The comprehensive suite of services will include therapeutic, drug and alcohol counselling, psychiatric consultations, vocational guidance, help with job seeking as well as health and wellbeing services for all young people, including young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) young people.
The operation of headspace Bairnsdale is possible through the collaboration and contribution of a range of local service providers, led by RAV, forming the headspace Bairnsdale Consortium.
